EmberDossier is a recency-first briefing format and agent skill, first published on 19 August 2026 by Catalyst Forge LLC. The public explainer is emberdossier.com. It does not search the web, store dossiers, or run a research backend.

Three names point at the same launch, and they are easy to mix up. EmberDossier is the format and the skill. get-ember-dossier is the npm package. emberdossier.com is the FilePress explainer. The GitHub repo is Catalyst-Forge-LLC/ember-dossier.

2. Why it matters right now

19 August 2026 is the first public day. The site is live. [email protected] is the first real package drop after a same-day 0.0.0 name stake. Anyone who lands on the homepage or the package page has to decide whether this is a research desk or a write-up order. EmberDossier’s own site takes the second reading: a format, not a research service. The agent the reader already uses does the looking.

The invented Harborview example shows the seven sections on a civic fixture. This briefing shows the same sections on a real, quiet product with more than one artifact.

19 August 2026. EmberDossier launched: explainer at emberdossier.com, source on GitHub, skill on npm as get-ember-dossier (0.0.0, then 0.1.4).
Same day. Three filled examples shipped with the skill: invented Harborview Public Library, plus real briefings on EmberDossier and Framework Computer.

4. Controversies & criticisms

No public disputes, reviews, or competitor fights are on record as of 19 August 2026. The product is hours old.

The live tension is definitional, and the site states it in the open. EmberDossier is a format. It is not a research service. Readers who want a crawler, a hosted dossier store, or a guaranteed-fresh fact engine will not find one here. That is a boundary, not a hidden limit. There is not yet an outside review to quote.

The pattern is small on purpose. A dossier always uses the same seven sections, in this order: Snapshot; Why it matters right now; Recent developments & current activity; Controversies & criticisms; Background; Key people & entities in the orbit; Possible refinements of the subject. It ends by naming source types.

Catalyst Forge LLC publishes it. The explainer is a static FilePress site. The consumer agent supplies search and judgment. Shipped examples stay gender-neutral or obviously generic; this briefing on the product exists because the subject was named.
